WHAT: Shawano Sun Drop Shootout: Bonduel vs. Oconto

WHY IT MATTERS: The Bonduel High School boys basketball team participates in the Shawano Sun Drop Shootout, a 14-game, two-day basketball tournament held under the Kress Events Center lights, for the first time this year. The Bears will put their undefeated record (6-0, 3-0 Central Wisconsin Conference-8) up against Oconto (3-4, 2-3 Packerland) Monday afternoon. It will be the third game of seven for the day, with seven more games on Tuesday. Bonduel will pick up again in the new year on Jan. 2 at Suring before coming home for a CWC-8 game against Weyauwega-Fremont.

WHERE: Kress Events Center, University of Wisconsin-Green Bay
WHY IT MATTERS: A banged up Shawano Community High School boys basketball team rebounded from a loss to Luxemburg-Casco with a gutty win at Green Bay West on Monday. The next challenge for Shawano (4-2, 2-2 Bay) will be to go up against Ashwaubenon (4-2, 2-1 Fox River Classic) in the sixth game of the Shawano Sun Drop Shootout’s second day Tuesday. Ashwaubenon is ranked fifth in the latest Associated Press boys basketball prep poll, despite early season losses to Kaukauna and Bay Port.
