Shirley Mae Pederson-Aschenbrenner, 84, of Leopolis, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, in Shawano.
Shirley was born in Oconto County on July 30, 1930, the daughter of the late Frank and Emma (Luebke) Moore. On March 12, 1949, she was united in marriage to Orlin G. Pederson in Little Suamico. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1989. On Feb. 1, 1997, she was united in marriage to Robert L. Aschenbrenner in Leopolis. He preceded her in death on April 9, 2000.
The Pederson family owned and operated Pederson’s bar in Leopolis. She was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Leopolis, where she was a part of W.E.L.C.A., the Shawano County Homemakers, the Leopolis Booster Club and the Leopolis Baseball Hall of Fame. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling and doing crossword puzzles.
Shirley is survived by her son, Orlin Pederson, of Leopolis, Mary (Bob) Pluger, of Tilleda, Bob (Julie) Aschenbrenner, of Clintonville, Margaret (special friend, Mel Westphal) Aschenbrenner, of Leopolis, and Ann (Bryan) Pieper, of Marinette; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husbands; one son, Duane, and her daughter-in-law, Peggy Pederson; two brothers, Frank and Gil; and one sister, Merle.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Mrs. Lois Graper officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church, with spring burial in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
