Reynelda “Nelda” Marie “Baby Girl” Haack, 68, of Neopit, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015, in Wausau.
Nelda was born on Feb. 26, 1946, in Lac Du Flambeau, the daughter of the late Allen and Viola (Dowd) Pyawasit. She graduated from Neillsville High School and spent most of her life in Wisconsin, settling in Neopit for the last 25 years. Nelda was united in marriage to Wayne Behnke and then later to Frederick “Fritz” Haack. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and was a member of the DRUM. Above all else, Nelda loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Nelda is survived by her husband, Fritz; children, Mary Lee (Pyawasit) (Tom) Borneman, and her children, Joshua, Kassina and La’Tia; Corey Alan (Sheri) Behnke and their children, Tyler Brooke and Savannah; Timothy Wayne (April) Behnke and their son, Chayton; and Jonathon Ray Torres and his children, Amelia, Alexis, Jonathon, Mari Rae and Carol Sue; and great- grandchildren, Wyatt, Mercedes, Aiden, Liam, Juliana and Kendra.
Nelda was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Edgar Allen Pyawasit Jr.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, until the time of the burial on Saturday at the Zoar Ceremonial Center. Burial will be in the Zoar Indian Burial Ground on Saturday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m.
Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.
