Charlotte V. Seefeldt, 97, of Tigerton, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Homme Home of Wittenberg.
The former Charlotte Viola Riemer was born on Oct. 3, 1917, in the town of Mackford, Green Lake County, to George and Bertha (Benz) Riemer. In the late 1930s she was united in marriage to Laurence Scarrah in Little Suamico. The couple had three children, and Mr. Scarrah preceded her in death in 1944. Charlotte married Phillip Kaminski in 1945 in Little Suamico. They had two children, and he passed away on Nov. 22, 1970. On Dec. 17, 1971, she was married to Victor Seefeldt in Caroline, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 1993.
Charlotte worked as a bartender for many years at several different taverns in Tilleda, Leopolis and Thornton. She was also employed for some time at the grocery store and at the meat market, both in Pella. Charlotte always enjoyed flowers, gardening, fishing and living up north. She also created beautiful plastic canvas craft items. For many years, Charlotte was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post Ladies Auxiliary, both of Tigerton. She liked watching Brewers baseball and Packers football whenever possible. Her favorite poodles were Brandy and Cherry. Charlotte will be remembered most as a devoted wife, a hard-working mom, and a proud homemaker who especially loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include five children, Robert Scarrah, of Green Bay, Betty “Betsy” (Elwyn “Al”) Suehring, of Amherst Junction, Mary (Ron) Lutzewitz, of Marion, Gloria (Dennis) Resch, of Antigo, and Gary Kaminski. There are two stepsons, Ivan (Sandy) Seefeldt, of West Bend, and Victor Seefeldt Jr., of Keller, Texas. There are 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a sister, Patricia “Patsy” Prill, of Markesan, many other relatives and friends.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husbands, a sister, Marie Poor, and two brothers, Ed and Clarence Riemer.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 9, at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Tigerton. The Rev. Matthew Uttenreither will officiate, and burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Tigerton. Friends may call on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.
