Authorities responded to a barn fire on Rose Brook Road in the town of Belle Plaine about 1:30 p.m. Friday after people reported seeing smoke from state Highway 29.
When the Shawano Area Fire Department arrived at N4704 Rose Brook Road, the barn was fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters extinguished the fire, along with the nearby grass fire.
Authorities issued a warning on social media noting low visibility on state Highway 29 and closed Rose Brook Road, just off of County Road M, for more than an hour while firefighters contained the fire.
Fire officials said the barn was a total loss and that there were no injuries to people or animals. No other information was available Friday evening.
