Dottie (Dorothy) Peters, 74, Oconto Falls, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, in the presence of her family. She was born April 27, 1939, in Oconto Falls to John and Mae (Lambert) Bohl. Dottie grew up in Oconto Falls, where she attended St. Anthony Catholic Grade School, before moving with her family to the Kewaunee area, where she graduated high school with the Class of 1957.
On April 27, 1963, she married Eugene Peters at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls. The couple lived most of their married lives in Oconto Falls where Dottie once worked at Gillett Canning Co. and the Chestnut Station restaurant.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Stiles. While a member at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls, Dottie served on the religious education board and parish Home School Association, once as president of the association.
Survivors are her loving husband of 50 years, Eugene Peters, Oconto Falls; their four children, Randy (Patti) Peters, Hubertus, Alison (Tim) Talbot, Germantown, Jeff (Toni) Peters, Pulaski, Sara (Bob Jr.) Lentz, Oconto Falls; eight grandchildren, Hannah and Gracie Peters, Morgan, Meghan and Cooper Talbot, Erica and Kyle Peters, Nathan Lentz; two sisters, Carol Alstadt, Milwaukee, Donna Johnson, Green Bay; one brother, Allen Bohl, Milwaukee; two brothers-in-law, Ronald La Violette, Sturgeon Bay, Carl Mueller, Milwaukee; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, infant Robert in 1966, Ron on June 14, 1985, one brother, Wayne Bohl, three sisters, Rosemary (Sylvester “Spike”) Zoeller, Barbara La Violette, Shirley Mueller, three infant siblings and one brother-in-law, Dennis Johnson.
Visitation was held Friday, Oct. 4, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Stiles. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, with the Rev. Joel Sember officiating. Burial followed in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Oconto Falls.
The Peters family would like to thank Dr. William Wittman for the care and concern shown Dottie over the years.
