The Oconto County Youth Fair Association will hold its annual business meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the Gillett Town Hall, 10908 Gillett Town Hall Road, just off state Highway 32 north in Gillett.
Fair association membership includes all residents of Oconto County, so all county residents are invited to participate.
Financial and activity reports of the 2014 fair will be presented, and members will have an opportunity to ask questions and make suggestions. Elections will be held to fill five expiring positions on the fair board of directors.
The board of directors is responsible for the month-to-month business of the association to plan and put on the annual Oconto County Fair. Directors serve three-year terms with no limit on the number of terms they may serve. Association members 18 and older are eligible to run for a director position. The positions are voluntary and include a commitment of time throughout the year.
Nominations are being accepted by the nominating committee of Guy Gooding, chair of the Oconto County Board Extension Education Committee, 920-822-8104; John Pinkart, department head of the University of Wisconsin-Extension, 920-834-6845; and Terry Nelson, fair director and association president, 920-373-1295.
Nominations will also be accepted from the floor during the annual meeting.
