Arthur W. Deering passed away in his sleep at his home in Milwaukee on Aug. 26, 2014.
Arthur was born in the town of Underhill on April 4, 1939. He graduated from Gillett High School and later went on to serve in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952 in Germany as a paratrooper, then returned to Milwaukee and worked at American Motors, which is now the Chrysler Corp.
Arthur is survived by his sister, Elaine (Deering) Arneson, of Oconto Falls, sister-in-law, Esther (Wally) Deering, of Gresham, and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Adela (Karsted) Deering; siblings, Emma (Chris) Lockstein, Hugo (Germaine) Deering, Sophie (Merton) Horsens, Reinhold Deering, Walter Deering, Harry (Lois) Deering,; and nephews, James Lockstein and Kevan Horsens.
A memorial service to celebrate Arthur’s life was conducted Saturday, Nov. 8, by the Rev. Andrew Williams, of Marinette, at the family cemetery in Underhill. Nancy Zima blessed the family by singing “How Great Thou Art” a cappella.
