N.E.W. Credit Union members can show support for their local high school when they purchase checks with a shadow image in the middle of the check representing one of the five Oconto County high school mascots.
The checks include a Lena Wildcat, Suring Eagle, Oconto Falls Panther, Oconto Blue Devil or Gillett Tiger.
When a member purchases a packet of the checks, the credit union donates $1 to the corresponding school. Donations are sent to the schools each January from funds acquired because of check orders placed the previous year. With the School Spirit Checks Program, N.E.W. Credit Union is donating more than $100 to the five high schools in Oconto County.
N.E.W. Credit Union is a member-owned financial cooperative that serves all who live or work in Brown, Marinette, Shawano and Oconto counties. The credit union has offices in Oconto Falls, Oconto and Suring. It is federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration.
