Nsight, parent company of Cellcom and Nsight Telservices, Niagara Telephone and Lakefield, is once again offering a $1,000 scholarship and a paid summer internship to a graduating high school senior who plans to attend Northeast Wisconsin Technical College this fall.
Applicants must be planning to enroll as a full-time student at NWTC in fall 2015 in one of the following programs: electrical engineering technology, electronics, CAD/CAM lab or computer support technician. The student must be available for a full-time, paid internship in the summer. Nsight will match the selected student with a mentor in its company in the associated field for the summer internship.
“There are a lot of opportunities for students in technology fields, but there’s also a lot of competition,” said Susan Powers, vice president of human resources for Nsight. “The opportunity for paid work experience in a relevant field before entering college is very unique, but we think the mentorship portion of the partnership will be even more beneficial for the student. Our hope is that the whole experience will provide a strong platform as the student begins his or her career.”
Applicants must reside in Nsight’s Northeast Wisconsin and Upper Michigan service area. The recipient will be selected on the basis of academic record, potential to succeed, leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience and essays on community involvement and technology impact. Financial need is not considered.
Applications are due March 13.
