Carol Ann Sobeck, 72, Stiles, went home to be with the Lord on Friday evening, Feb. 27, 2015, with her family present. She was born Nov. 6, 1942, to Harry and Anna (Markiewicz) Sobeck.
Carol spent her childhood on the family farm in the Lena area, moving away after college to teach in the Waupun School District for 35 years. She also spent one summer in England touring and taking classes to increase her knowledge.
Following her retirement from teaching, she returned to the Stiles area, where she stayed active in NORTA events, reading, woodworking and enjoying all aspects of nature. Carol even built two homes in which she did most of the finishing work herself.
She was extremely fond of her white German shepherds and the birds that visited the many houses she built for them.
Carol will be sadly missed by her sister, Janice (Harlan) Shupita, and her brother, Jerome (Susan) Sobeck; two nephews, Bryan Shupita, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, Kevin Shupita, Minnetonka, Minnesota; along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Harry Sobeck.
Private family services were held at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oconto Falls.
The Sobeck family would like to thank all those who helped care for Carol during her illness.
