Oconto Fallls could not bounce back after allowing six runs the first two innings in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday at West De Pere.
Oconto Falls (3-14, 2-9 Bay Conference) had multi-hit games from Liz Manns (2 for 4) and Brittany Russell (2 for 3 with two RBIs). Sabrina Brasier chipped in two runs.
West De Pere’s Jennifer Timm went 4 for 4 with four RBIs. Bailey Denis (2 for 5) and Tia Danforth (1 for 3) each scored three runs.
MaKenna Kussow took the loss for Oconto Falls, giving up five earned runs on 14 hits through seven innings.
Paige Schaefer picked up the win for the Phantoms (8-8, 7-4 Bay), striking out five and allowing one earned run on six hits while issuing no walks.

A last-ditch effort was not enough as Oconto Falls lost the first game of a doubleheader Saturday at West De Pere.
With the Panthers behind 6-0 entering the final frame, Holly Virtues doubled in Sabrina Brasier and scored on a wild pitch. Third baseman Mikaela Thomson singled in Sadie Pankratz and scored on a triple by senior shortstop Liz Manns. But that’s where the rally ended.
Oconto Falls pitcher MaKenna Kussow allowed six runs (two earned) on eight hits, but had no walks. Brasier was 2 for 3.
Phantoms’ pitcher Amber Van Duyse struck out 11 batters through seven innings, allowed four runs (two earned) on six hits and walked none.

Stephenson 1
The Titans took advantage of 12 fielding errors and 11 walks by host Stephenson on May 5.
STAA/Lena (5-5, 1-5 Marinette & Oconto Conference), which had six hits, scored in every frame, including a nine-run fifth inning.
Marley Carviou batted 2 for 3 with three runs scored and a run driven in for the Titans. She also pitched the first three innings, holding the Eagles scoreless. She struck out four and allowed two walks and issued two walks.
Alyssa Hornick was 1 for 4 with a team-leading four runs scored. Makayla Bushmaker was 0 for 2 with two runs scored and a RBI.
Sarah Williams took the loss, allowing 23 runs (six earned) on six hits in five innings. She struck out three.
