To the editor:
Last week’s paper had a letter to the editor that called me out by name. It was about Scott Walker and was long on rhetoric, and in my opinion, lacked any substance. It called for the “real people” of Wisconsin to say what they think about Scott Walker.
Well, I am a real person and, yes, I have supported Scott Walker. That does not mean that I always agree with what he is doing and wish he would focus on the job to be done here instead of campaigning for president.
Speaking of the president, we are experiencing the most divisive leadership ever in our country. The president was elected to lead all the people, not to be a “campaigner in chief” and tear this nation apart. We are now considered weak abroad with our “lead from behind” policies while Russia annexes territory without a whimper and Iran gets a pathway to a nuclear bomb. Here at home it seems that every minority, no matter how small, gets its agenda moved forward while the silent majority of Americans see traditional Christian values eroded and disappear.
I call for the “real people” to make their voices heard and loudly. From the president down to the John Doe fishing expedition here in Wisconsin and to people being called out by name in the paper, there is a steady drumbeat to silence those who speak for conservative values. I urge those “real people” who agree with me to write to the paper and make your voice heard.
The foundation is being laid right now for the most important presidential election in our history. The outcome will determine the long-term future of this great country for our kids and grandkids. Nanny state or bright individual future? Help make the right choice.
