Hillside Assembly of God Church in Gillett will begin a new year of youth and children’s programs on Wednesday evenings, beginning with an open house at 6 p.m. Sept. 9. Prizes will be awarded, and hot dogs and ice cream will be served.
Royal Rangers is a boys program for ages 3-11. Boys learn practical lessons from the Bible with a variety of themes, including camping, sports and lifesaving.
Mpact Girls Clubs is for girls 3-11 and teaches practical lessons from the Bible with various themes that girls can relate to, including making the right choices, fitness, attitude, peer pressure and family. There are fun activities with each lesson.
Both groups can earn rewards and have opportunities for extra-curricular activities.
Ignite Student Ministries, the Hillside youth group, also meets on Wednesday nights and includes an opportunity to make friends, hear practical messages from the Bible, sing contemporary Christian music with the youth band and have fun with other teens.
Again this year is a group just for middle school students featuring interactive discussion and high-energy activities. All teens will have opportunities to build healthy relationships with others through small group interaction on Wednesday nights.
A Fifth Quarter event will be held in the Hillside gym on Oct. 2 following the Gillett homecoming football game. All teens are welcome.
Adults can participate in a Bible study called “The Truth Project” by Focus on the Family. Men and women will be a combined class. Twelve one-hour video lessons discuss in detail God’s design for living out the Christian world view in daily life.
The Wednesday night activities at Hillside Assembly meet from 6:45-8 p.m. starting Sept. 16. Visitors are welcome. Transportation from Oconto Falls, Pulcifer, Cecil and Gillett can be arranged by calling the church office at 920-855-2962. The church is located at 5890 State Highway 22, Gillett.
