Spectrum’s fiber broadband network has expanded to bring Spectrum internet, mobile, TV and voice services to more than 1,300 residents and businesses in previously unserved or underserved areas of Oconto County, including in the towns of Oconto, Little River, Mountain and Townsend.
Spectrum’s multiyear rural construction initiative is driven by more than $7 billion in private investment from Spectrum and will ultimately add an additional 100,000-plus miles of fiber network infrastructure and deliver symmetrical and multigigabit speeds to more than 1.7 million new locations across the country.
“Spectrum is bringing gigabit broadband to unserved communities in Wisconsin and across America,” said Matt Brown, Spectrum’s area vice president of field operations in Wisconsin. “Our investment is providing residents and small businesses superior connectivity at highly competitive prices, backed by a team of skilled local technicians and 100% U.S.-based customer service.”
Reliable, high-speed internet access benefits rural communities with the speeds necessary to stay connected in a digital world. To support those efforts, Spectrum donated $2,500 to The Bellin Health Foundation on July 15 to advance virtual care needs and technology access for patients.
“At Emplify Health by Bellin, we are committed to preserving and enhancing access to rural healthcare at a time when many health systems are pulling back,” said Molly Vandervest, president of The Bellin Health Foundation. “Technology is critical to this effort, whether it’s a patient’s ability to quickly schedule an appointment or view test results through MyChart or the ability to see a provider remotely from the comfort of their own home.”
