Assets belonging to Shawano’s Newcap location are now up for sale in accordance with the court-ordered liquidation decision.
All of the contents in the Newcap building at 504 Lakeland Road are now available through Titletown Auction Company. The auction began June 24.
Bidding is open to the public and takes place exclusively online through Titletown Auction Company’s website.
Nearly 600 items are on the auction block. Items include medical clinic equipment and supplies, office furniture, tools, Smart Boards, weatherization tools, HVAC testing equipment, small and large kitchen appliances, bed frames, park benches, a gas grill, computer equipment and more.
All items are sold as is and are presumed untested unless otherwise noted. Titletown Auction Company does not test items for genuineness.
Every lot opens with a $2 starting bid and will sell to the highest bidder regardless of price, with no reserve.
A 15% buyer’s fee and Wisconsin sales tax of 5.5% will be added to all purchases.
All bidding will end July 7, starting at 6 p.m., with one lot closing every 15 seconds thereafter.
Successful bidders must pick up their purchases between 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. July 8 at the Shawano location. Any items not picked up during that time will be considered abandoned and forfeited without refund.
The auction is the latest event in the saga that led to the company closing its doors at the end of March and then filing for bankruptcy.
For more than 50 years, Newcap operated in 10 counties, including Shawano, Menominee and Oconto. It serves low-income residents and is funded primarily through state and federal grants.
The agency served more than 25,000 people in 2022. Its programs ranged from employment and job training to educational support, financial coaching, health and food assistance, housing services, home repair and case management.
Newcap had a deficit of more than $2 million in 2024, and a 2025 audit raised doubt about the organization’s ability to continue operating.
Court documents show Newcap owes $4.03 million and has estimated assets of $5.9 million with $4.89 million of that tied up in 25 properties.
Assets at additional Newcap locations — including those in Crandon, Marinette, Oconto and Green Bay — are expected to be sold in the coming months.
