Shawano County officials agreed July 17 to renew the lease of the Mielke Arts Center with the Shawano County Arts Council for the next five years.
The Mielke Arts Center is located at N5649 Airport Road, Shawano.
The agreement will run from Sept. 1 to Aug. 31, 2030, unless terminated sooner by either party.
The lease will be automatically renewed for one-year terms after the five years.
The center shall be operated by the arts council for the purpose of enlarging the role of the arts, and sponsoring cultural and entertainment programs; renting or donating usage of the building for meetings of area youth clubs, business organizations and community groups, and to translate national and state programs in the arts to Shawano County conditions, needs and values.
The lease does not include the greater Mielke Park area, and the public maintains the right to use the park at any time free of any charges or admittance fee.
