Oconto Falls’ Riel wins medalist honors

April 22 Bay Conference Mini-Meet #3 Shawano golfers scored 181, just one stroke behind New London’s 180 to place sixth out of six teams that completed the day at Shawano Lake Golf Course. Owen and Vince Sigl of Seymour each had a 35 to lead all competitors. The Hawks were led by Terrance Smith and Duane Gristeau-Blanche and Blake Knope, who each had a 45. Tyson Lyons rounded out the scoring four with a 46. Jakob Stuhr also had a 48. North Eastern Conference Mega-Meet #3 Oconto Falls senior Kadyn Riel won medalist honors with a 71 at Riverside Golf Course in Clintonville. Of the 10 teams, the Panthers placed second with a 329, trailing Luxemburg-Casco’s 318. Also scoring for Oconto Falls were Carson McDermid with an 83, Dylan Clark with an 86 and Brock McDermid with an 89. Nick Trepanier had a 96. Mosinee Invitational Wittenberg-Birnamwood placed last out of nine teams at Wild Rock Golf Club in Wisconsin Dells. The Chargers scored 414, compared to Brookfield East’s top score of 337. Contributing to Witt-Birn’s total score were George Seegmiller 89, Roman Johnson 104, Jaden Clark 108 and Nicholas Flak 113. Luca Pelusi carded a 117.
