Four performances planned for Easter cantata

The ecumenical choir of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Gillett is preparing for its annual Easter cantata, with performances beginning at 7 p.m. April 23 at the church, 101 W. Main St., Gillett. Another evening performance will follow at 7 p.m. April 24. Final performances will be at 2 p.m. April 26 and April 27. There is no charge for admission but a freewill offering will be accepted. A dessert reception will follow each performance. St. John’s Lutheran Church (known to many as “The Clock Church”) is handicapped-accessible to all. A cantata is a musical performance with narration instead of characters. It includes many well-known Easter melodies and a number of newer contemporary songs. Featured in this performance are Sharon Belongia, John Darga, Judy Darga. Matt Denkert, Clair Erb, LuAnn Erb, Anita Gratziano, Maddy Holmes, Darlene Kapelke, Patti Konkle, Bennett Regal, Patty Stabbe, Bonnie Tousey, Chique Tousey-Tabar, Mark Vorphal, Wendy Vorphal, Leslie Witty, Cathy Wocking, Daniel Wright, Doug Yahnke and Rick Zill. The production is directed by Wayne Strei.
