Oconto Falls was the only local team to win in the opening round of WIAA playoff action, capturing a 60-42 victory over No. 8 seed Peshtigo.
The No. 9 seed Panthers advanced to the next round and will take on No. 1 seed Wittenberg-Birnamwood, which has not lost all season.
Crivitz 53, Marion/Tigerton 36
The Marion/Tigerton season ended with a 53-36 loss to Crivitz.
The No. 11 seed Mustangs traveled to No. 6 for the first round of WIAA regional action.
Marion/Tigerton, which finished 4-2 and in second place in the Central Wisconsin North Conference, was 15-10 overall.
Green Bay NEW Lutheran/Providence Academy 50, Suring 30
The No. 8 seed Suring Eagles lost 50-30 to No. 9 seed Green Bay NEW Lutheran/Providence Academy in WIAA regional action.
Suring’s year ended with a 4-12 record in the Marinette & Oconto Conference and 11-14 overall.
According to wissports.net, Bunny Cramer led the Eagles this year with an average of 17.0 points per game, followed by Paige Pommerich with 7.7 and Emma Kristof with 6.6.
Ellayna Skarban averaged 7.2 rebounds per game, and Cramer had 4.3.
In assists per game, it was Kristof with 2.6 and Cramer with 2.4.
Oneida Nation 90, Bowler 31
Bowler finished the season with an overall mark of 4-16 after its 90-31 loss to Oneida Nation in WIAA regional action.
Bowler was seeded No. 13 and Oneida Nation was No. 4 in the Division 5 Sectional 2.
The Panthers finished 0-6 and in last place in the four-team Central Wisconsin North Conference.
Florence 52, Gresham 23
Gresham was outmatched by Florence in its 52-23 loss in the first round of the WIAA playoffs.
Gresham, winners of the Central Wisconsin North Conference with a 5-1 mark and 11-12 overall, was seeded 10th. Florence was seeded seventh and advanced to the next round to take on Gillett.
According to wissports.net, Lexi Baddmoccasin-Barnes led Gresham during the year with an average of 12.6 points per game. She was followed by Janay Pecore-Kirkland with 6.8 and Allie Cerveny with 5.8.
Pecore-Kirkland averaged 8.4 rebounds per game, and Emily Jensen had 6.9.
Baddmoccasin-Barnes led with 4.3 assists per game; Grace Haffner averaged 1.8.
