Great Northern Conference Meet
The Shawano/Seymour swim team placed third at the Great Northern Conference Meet in Rhinelander.
Rhinelander won with 463 points, followed by Tomahawk 235, Shawano/Seymour 168, Antigo 131, Medford 111 and Lakeland Union 82.
Freshman Jonah Kuba placed second in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:58.01. Nicholas Auchue, another freshman, placed sixth in 2:29.53.
Kuba was also second in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:29.32. James Lange was seventh in 6:37.26.
Earning fourth place in the 400-yard freestyle relay were Brendon Riehl, Lange, Auchue and Kuba in 4:04.48.
Placing fifth in the 200-yard freestyle relay were Riehl, Nate Hilbert, Lange and Kuba in 1:47.91. Finishing in ninth were Dawson Maass, Cole Beyer, Gage Roberts and Marcus Biagini in 2:10.43.
Auchue was sixth in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:11.66.
Riehl placed sixth in the50-yard freestyle in 27.11, while Hilbert was ninth in 28.44. Roberts finished in 14th place in 31.43 but did not earn any team points.
Getting team points in the 100-yard breaststroke were Biagini in seventh place in 1:24.94, Maass in ninth in 1:31.25 and Beyer in 11th in 1:37.85.
Riehl was seventh in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:00.69. Beyer placed 16th in 1:11.51 with no team points.
In the 200-yard medley relay, the team of Auchue, Maass, Lange and Hilbert placed seventh in 2:15.82. Finishing ninth were Liam Laude, Biagini, Beyer and Roberts in 2:28.09.
Laude finished eighth in the 200-yard individual medley in 3:00.68.
