The Bay Area Ice Bears shut out the USM Wildcats 5-0 at Uihlein Ice Arena in River Falls on Dec. 14.
The Ice Bears pounded out 55 shots on goal, while the Wildcats only managed eight, including none in the second period.
Emily Bill started the scoring at 9:08 in the first period with assists from Faye Brunke and Addison Dahl.
Three players scored in the second period. First, it was Julianne Bradford with help from Elizabeth Zunker and Ava McDonald at 3:00. Next up was Hannah Von Haden with help from Rachael Beeck and Tiana Stindt at 9:00. Finally, it was Mya Sheppard with a McDonald assist at 11:48 to make it 4-0.
Bradford scored the final goal at 16:58 in the third period with help from from McDonald and Bill.
Reese Spieling notched eight saves, while Leia Schaefer was kept busy making 50.
The Ice Bears were penalized twice for four minutes. The Wildcats were penalized four times for eight minutes.
The Wildcats are a co-op with team from University School of Milwaukee, Divine Savior Holy Angels, Whitefish Bay, St. Thomas More and Nicolet schools.
