Abrams Spotlight Productions Inc. will hold auditions Dec. 18-19 for its spring musical, “Godspell,” to be presented March 13-16 and 20-23, 2025.
“Godspell” is based on the Gospel of Matthew, with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. This timeless tale of friendship and love is demonstrated by an eclectic group that teams up with Jesus. Using a blend of parables, songs, games and tomfoolery, Jesus’ life is played out onstage. In this New Age production, Jesus’ message of kindness, tolerance and love shines vibrantly.
This musical, directed by Elizabeth Jolly-Haslitt, calls for male and female cast members, ages 16 and older.
Individuals will have two opportunities to audition: 6-8:30 p.m. Dec. 18 or Dec. 19, at the Nancy Byng Community Theater, 5852 Maple St., Abrams. Individuals who audition should be prepared to sing one-minute of a song from a musical. They are encouraged to sing along to a music track on their phone, instead of singing a cappella.
The auditions will also include a reading from the script and a group choreography number, so comfortable clothing and shoes are recommended. Dance experience is a plus.
To save time and skip the line, individuals are encouraged to complete the audition paperwork online prior to auditions. A link can be found under the Events/Auditions tab at Abramstheater.com. If an in-person audition isn’t feasible, contact ASPI at 920-826-5852 or theater.aspi@gmail.com regarding an alternate time or a video audition.
