Ice Bears win all 3 games in Baldwin

Nov. 30 Bay Area 6, St. Croix Valley 1 The Bay Area Ice Bears won all three games at a tournament in Baldwin over the Thanksgiving Day weekend. The Ice Bears beat the St. Croix Valley Fusion 6-1 for the title. Scoring for the Ice Bears were Emily Bill, Faye Brunke, Ava McDonald (twice), Olympia Simons and Briana Anundsen. The team scored twice in each period. The Ice Bears were penalized five times for 10 minutes, while the Fusion were called for five infractions for 12 minutes. Reese Spieling worked the net for the Ice Bears and had 10 saves. Anna Woolley had 27 for the Fusion. Nov. 29 Bay Area 3, Black River Falls 0 The Ice Bears shut out Black River Falls 3-0 to close out play Nov. 29. Julianna Bradford scored on a power play with an assist from Tiana Stindt at 4:56 in the first period. Emily Bill followed up with an even strength goal at 6:59. Bill scored a second time at 1:34 in the third period with an assist from Bradford. Black River Falls was penalized six times for 12 minutes. The Ice Bears were were called for two infractions for six minutes. Payton Huntington had 10 saves for the Ice Bears, and Alexa Moore had 20 for Black River Falls. Bay Area 1, Western Wisconsin 0 The Bay Area Ice Bears opened their 2024-25 season with a 1-0 win over the Western Wisconsin Stars at a tournament in Baldwin. With the team getting 32 shots on goal, the Ice Bears’ Ava McDonald connected on one at 5:42 in the second period for the game’s only score. The Ice Bears were penalized four times for eight minutes, and the Stars were called for three infractions for six minutes. Payton Huntington had seven saves for the Ice Bears, and Sierra Andert had 31 for the Stars.
