Gillett’s Bradyn Wendorff led all area runners with a seventh-place finish in the Division 3 boys race at the state cross country tournament Nov. 2 in Wisconsin Rapids.
Wendorff completed the event in 16:26.7. There were 151 runners in the D3 race with the best time of 15:52.7.
The Bonduel boys team placed 14th among 16 teams.
Race Anvelink led the Bears with a 30th-place finish in 17:50.3. He was joined by Gage Anderson, 47th, 18:16.8; Griffin Uelmen, 56th, 18:28; Joah Dworniczak, 79th, 19:04.2; and Garrett Anderson, 93rd, 19:33.5.
Rounding out the team was Ben Reisner, who placed 108th in 20:40.2. Oliver Chitwood was a scratch.
In the girls event, Wittenberg-Birnamwood placed 11th and Bonduel was 13th, again out of 16 teams.
For the Chargers, it was Rory Salveson leading the way with a 10th-place finish in 20:07.3. She was followed by Nora Bushman, 20th, 20:46.6; Harper Krull, 29th, 21:04.7; Gabrielle Timm, 70th, 20:44.5; and Jayden Zeinert, 101st, 25:29.4.
The top time was 18:08.4, and there were 147 runners in the race.
Mariah Wondra led the Bears, placing 17th in 20:31.4. Also scoring for Bonduel were Teagan Engel, 28th, 21:01.5; Hailey Berg, 64th, 22:30.4; Cierra Schnell, 23:24.5; and Kember Frome, 98th, 24:55.
Rounding out the team were Seidy Blandon, 99th, 24:59.2; and Taylor Rank, 106th, 25:46.8.
Division 2
Shawano’s girls team placed 13th out of 16 teams, with Bailey Hendricks leading the way with a 31st-place finish in 20:35.7.
She was joined by Adalyn Barkley, 52nd, 21:12.1; Mikelah Powers, 66th, 21:41; Maci Beyer, 71st, 21:45; and Anabelle Schroeder, 74th, 21:50.2.
Rounding out the team were Zoe Sipple, 108th, 24:09.1; and Teagan Powers, 110th, 24:41.2.
Oconto Falls’ Hailey Delzer finished in 49th place in 20:24.1.
The top finisher had a time of 17:38.9, and 150 racers competed.
In the boys race, Shawano’s Josiah Kuehl placed 65th in 17:25.8, while Menominee Nation’s Bryant Waupoose III was 74th in 17:32.1.
Among the 150 runners, the best time was 15:46.5.
Division 1
In the Division 1 girls race, Pulaski’s Olivia Stedl placed 94th out of 190 runners in 20:18.7. The winning time was 18:04.5.
In the boys race, Pulaski’s Arden Gillen placed 126th out of 189 runners with a time of 17:19.4. The winning time was 15:07.5.
