Tigerton wins volleyball regional match in 5 games

Oct. 22 Tigerton 3, Stockbridge 2 Tigerton trailed Stockbridge 2-0 but came back from behind to win 3-2 and advance to the next round of Division 5 playoff action. Stockbridge claimed 27-25 and 25-15 victories and needed just one more win to advance. Tigerton saw it differently; the Tigers needed three straight wins to come from behind and win. On scores of 25-17, 25-22, 15-13, Tigerton did just that. Jade Selle led the Tigers with 14 kills, followed by Aaliyah Lederhaus with 12, Sienna Breaker with 11 and Presley Stewart-Rolfs with nine. Danika Tiller had 39 assists. Angel Welch led with 37 digs, followed by Selle with 30, Breaker and Lederhaus with 25 each and Stewart-Rolfs with 24. Angel Welch had 17 service points with two aces, while Stewart-Rolfs had 13 service points, and Selle had 12 service points with two aces. Tigerton will play Oct. 24 at Green Bay NEW Lutheran. Shawano 3, Marinette 0 Shawano defeated Marinette in three sets to advance to the second round of Division 2 playoff action. Scores were 25-6, 25-12, 25-11. The Hawks will play Winneconne on Oct. 24. Clintonville 3, Menominee Nation 2 Down 2-0 to the Truckers, the Eagles fought back to tie the match at two games apiece before Clintonville prevailed in the fifth set. Scores for the Eagles were 22-25, 17-25, 25-15, 27-25, 10-15. Clintonville will play at No. 1 seed Bonduel in Division 3 action Oct. 24. Wittenberg-Birnamwood 3, Southern Door 0 Seventh-seeded Wittenberg-Birnamwood beat No. 10 seed Southern Door to advance to the second round of Division 3 playoff action. Scores were 26-24, 25-13, 25-20. The Chargers will take on No. 2 seed Oconto on Oct. 24. Coleman 3, Gillett 0 Sixth-seeded Coleman topped 11th-seeded Gillett in three straight sets to end the season for the Tigers. Scores were 25-7, 25-18, 25-21. Lena 3, White Lake 0 Lena, seeded seventh, topped 10th seed White Lake in three sets with scores of 25-10, 25-8, 26-24. The Wildcats will take on No. 2 Niagara on Oct. 24. Oneida Nation 3, Marion 2 Marion took a 2-0 lead over Oneida Nation but could not find that third victory, as the visitors won 3-2 to advance in Division 5 playoff action. The Tigers won the first two sets 25-14 and 25-17. However, Oneida Nation clawed its way back with victories of 25-23, 25-17, 15-8. Bowler 3, Providence Academy 0 Bowler won in three straights sets over Green Bay’s Providence Academy. Scores were 25-15, 25-12, 25-14. The No. 6 seed Panthers will play Oct. 24 against No. 3 Northland Lutheran.
