Oconto’s Harvest Fest returns Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. when downtown Oconto transforms into the ultimate fall playground, with free fun, food, and festivities for the whole family.
Main Street will be buzzing with excitement as it closes to vehicles and opens up to a lively parade of vendors, arts and crafts, and delicious seasonal treats.
“We’ve pulled out all the stops to make this year’s Harvest Fest unforgettable,” said Samantha Routheau, president of the Oconto Area Chamber of Commerce. “From the all-new pumpkin carving contest to a scavenger hunt that will have you exploring every nook and cranny of downtown, this event is all about celebrating the season and our amazing community. Get ready for a day of pure fall fun.”
The pumpkin carving contest is part of the festivities. Whether aiming for spooky, funny or downright creative, participants can bring their pre-carved masterpiece to the information booth at the corner of Main Street and Superior Avenue. Winners will be crowned at 2 p.m.
For those with a sense of adventure, the scavenger hunt is where it’s at. Participants can travel through downtown looking for scarecrows. There is the opportunity to win some sweet prizes.
Children will have games and activities designed just for them, while adults can indulge in some serious shopping and tasty treats like hot apple cider to the crunch of fresh-picked apples.
The event is sponsored by Stewart’s Heating and Cooling, along with Unlimited Services, Margie Daul State Farm, Electrical Service and Supplies, Koehne Chevrolet GMC, and Bug Tussel.
