BABA title game set

The Little Falls Loggers will travel to the Scandinavia Vikings on Sept. 1 to compete in the 78th Badger Amateur Baseball Association Grand Championship Game. Little Falls beat Eland 7-5 in 12 innings on Aug. 25 to advance, and Scandinavia beat Clintonville 14-1 to host the title game. Little Falls 7, Eland 5 Chris Dunn was the winning pitcher, lasting 11 innings. He struck out 10, walked four, gave up eight hits and five run. In one inning of relief and earning the save was Kyle Finger. He walked one batter. For the Loggers, Kal Fischer hit 2-for-6, Kasey Morgan was 2-for-6, Cam Gruenwald was 3-for-6, Carter Kurki hit 2-for-5, and Jenner Gullixon hit 1-for-4. Eland’s Dylan Trigg pitched first six innings, striking out one, walking three, and giving up four hits and three runs. Tyler Nelson pitched the other six innings, striking out five, walking three, and allowing six hits and four runs. Top hitters for Eland were Tyler Nelson 2-for-6, Jacob Ligenza 3-for-7, Ryan Richter 1-for-6, Payton Flees 3-for-5 with a double, and Joe Buss 1-for-6. Scandinavia 14, Clintonville 1 Ben Lee was the winning pitcher, while Jaden Doornink took the loss in this lopsided game. Braden Hunkins set the pace for the Vikings by hitting 2-for-2 with a pair of home runs and three RBIs. Lee hit 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Logan Moe connected on 2-of-5 including a triple and three RBIs. Clintonville hitters included Hunter Vollmer 2-for-5, Brock Smejkal 1-for-4 and Mitch Ebben 1-for-4.
