Town of Washington man found drowned in Bahr Lake

A Town of Washington man was found dead Aug. 3 at Bahr Lake. About 5:50 a.m., the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department received call from concerned family members of a missing 64-year-old man. This investigation led deputies to believe this missing person may have been in the area of several local lakes. Deputies located evidence at Bahr Lake indicating a vehicle had possibly driven into the lake. The Shawano County Dive Team responded to the scene, and with the assistance of several other agencies, a pickup truck was located completely submerged in the lake. The missing man was found dead in the water. The sheriff’s department was assisted at this incident by the Shawano County Dive Team, Shawano Area Fire Department, Cecil-Washington Fire Department, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Shawano Police Department, Tigerton Police Department and the Shawano County Coroner’s Office. No further information or names will be released at this time.
