A New London woman suffered nonlife-threatening injuries Thursday when she failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a semi trailer in Clintonville.
Debra Morien, 50, needed to be extricated from her sport utility vehicle following the accident at East Green Tree Road and Industrial Avenue about 9:30 a.m. Thursday. She was transported to New London Hospital. The family dog, which also was trapped in the vehicle, was uninjured and taken to We Care Animal Hospital until the family could pick it up.
A citation for failure to stop at the stop sign will be issued, according to a statement from the Clintonville Police Department.
The driver of the semi, Jeffrey Kuehl, 41, of Glenwood City, was not injured.
The crash ruptured the semi’s fuel tank, causing a diesel fuel leak. The Waupaca County Haz-Mat Team coordinated the cleanup with the Clintonville Street Department.
