Marie M. Gluth

Marie M. Gluth, 89, of Clintonville, passed away Monday morning, March 30, 2015, at Pine Manor Healthcare Center in Embarrass. Marie was born on Nov. 22, 1925, in the Township of Bear Creek, Waupaca County, as the daughter of the late John and Mabel (Burton) Stilen. On June 19, 1948, she was united in marriage to Paul A. Gluth at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville. The couple resided in Clintonville their entire married life. Marie worked as a nurse at Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center for many years before retiring in the late 1970s. Paul preceded his wife in death on Jan. 21, 2002. Marie was a faithful member of St. Martin Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed volunteering as a member of the Ladies Aid. She loved baking, especially when it included spending time with her grandchildren. Marie also enjoyed dancing, flower gardens and socializing with friends at the Clintonville Senior Center. Survivors include four daughters, Colleen Swift, Marietta, Georgia, Connie (Bruce) Parkovich, Marinette, Ronda (Tim) Olmsted, Pulaski, and Renee (Dan) Katch, Freedom; a daughter-in-law, Connie Gluth, Clintonville; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson; and one brother, Joe (Marcille) Stilen, Leeman. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; son, Douglas Gluth; six sisters, Lucille Pietz, Vaiden Peeters, Jeanette McGlone, Lillian McGlone, Marjorie Peeters and Isla Flink-Suprise; four brothers, Gordon, Merlin, Ira and Virgil Stilen. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 2, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville with the Rev. Christian Burg officiating. Interment will take place at St. Martin Lutheran Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
