Lewellen “Lew” Erb, 78, of Navarino, passed away Tuesday morning, Feb. 17, 2015, at Appleton Medical Center. He was born Jan. 21, 1937, son of the late Harry and Edna (Anderson) Erb.
On Sept. 9, 1961, Lew was united in marriage to Barbara Allen at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Navarino. Lew and Barb dairy farmed in the town of Navarino for many years. He enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, fishing, bowling and playing softball. Watching his grandchildren play sports and participating in their activities was one of his favorite pastimes.
He is survived by his wife, Barb; four children, Luke (Terri) Erb, Nathalie (Barb) Erb, Jenifer Erb and Allen (Kris) Erb; nine grandchildren, Josh (Jen), Tessa, Tamra, Morgan, Taylor, Wyatt, Tasia, Jared and Ezra; and sister-in-law, Ruth Arkel. He is further survived by Barb’s family: Katherine Tubbs, Geraldine Young, Carol Herb, Diane (August) Frenche and Vernon Evenson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Arkel Erb; sister-in-law, Bev Evenson; and two brothers-in-law, Dale Tubbs and Ray Herb.
Friends may call at Ascension Lutheran Church, Navarino, on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, from 10 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. with Pastor John Paquette officiating. Burial will take place in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
