Leon J. Drath, of Gillett, 81, who loved Jesus, went to be with our Lord on Jan. 28, 2015, surrounded by his family. He was born Sept. 7, 1933, to the late Adolph and Leona (nee Patzer) Drath in Milwaukee.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army and received a medal of Good Conduct upon his return from Germany. Leon and Lulabelle (nee Braun) were united in marriage on Feb. 10, 1962, in Gillett. Leon worked at Briggs & Stratton in Wauwatosa as a tool and die maker. He was a member of Hillside Assembly of God Church in Gillett. Leon loved helping and spending time with his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and teaching Sunday school.
Leon is survived by his loving wife, Lulabelle Drath; his daughters, Karla (Terry) Price, of Sussex, Judy (Chuck) Truax, of Bonduel; grandchildren, David, Kari (Paul), Daniel, Kristina (Shay), Melissa (Drew), Jessica, Nathan, CJ (Jilane), Alex; great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Noah, Kinslee, Zeeten, Naj; sister, Dolores (Clay) Juno, of Brookfield; aunts, Edna Miller, of Coleman, Helen Drath, of Oconto Falls; along with special brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Friends called from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 2 at Hillside Assembly of God Church in Gillett. Funeral services took place at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Carlson officiating. Burial took place at Wanderers Rest Cemetery in Gillett, with military honors provided by Gillett American Legion.
