Lena Dairyfest is Saturday

The Lena community will celebrate Dairyfest on Saturday, Sept. 6, at St. Anne’s Parish grounds in Lena. The celebration begins with the Stampede 5K Walk-Run at Lena High School. Registration starts at 6 a.m., and the Stampede begins at 8 a.m. Chad Misco, 920-373-2319, is chairman. A parade, beginning at 10:30 a.m., will start on the west end of Lena and proceed down Main Street. Steve Carlin, 920-373-0209, is parade chairman. After the parade, food and refreshment stands will open on the festival grounds. There will be music and kids activities. Kids can enjoy the Lena FFA petting zoo, Brayson’s Bouncers, a climbing wall, and face painting by Brianna and Maddie. A farm tractor pull will start at noon, followed by a truck pull at approximately 6 p.m. Admission is free for both events. Hubert Weidemeyer, 715-927-1612, is chairman of the tractor pull. Ed McClain, 715-923-1987, is chairman of the truck pull. Tedd Nadler and Doug Neta are co-chairman of the Dairyfest Committee. The Lena Museum will be open for tours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
