Shawano Kwik Trip employees detained a woman taking money out of the cash register at the convenience store in the early morning hours of Oct. 23.
According to a statement from Capt. Shane Stange of the Shawano Police Department, the incident happened at at 2:28 a.m. at the store at 1241 E. Green Bay St.
The woman was wearing a disguise and was handcuffed by Shawano County sheriff’s deputies who were the first to arrive on the scene. Shawano police arrived shortly thereafter and investigated the robbery.
The suspect’s vehicle was in the parking lot and modified to conceal identifying characteristics, according to Stange’s statement. The vehicle and other evidence was confiscated.
The woman was charged with one count of attempted robbery with threat of force.
