Joseph N. Brazgel Jr., 80, of Shawano, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, at his home. He was born on June 18, 1934, to the late Joseph N. and Phyllis (Hapak) Brazgel Sr.
Joseph served his country by enlisting in the Air Force. He loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar. Joseph also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all, Joe loved spending time with his family.
Joseph is survived by his daughter, Jill (Thaddeous Fernandez) Martin, of Bowler; one granddaughter, Lavender Martin; stepchildren, Michael (Bobbi Hacker) Rogers, of Shawano, and Catherine Wargo, of Minneapolis; his siblings, Donald (Phyllis) Brezgel, Rosemary (Fred) Dill and Delores (Dennis) Hinchey. He is further survived by his special nephew, Jerry (Lavern) Brazgel; his good friend, Carl Tischauser; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Phyllis; his siblings, Chester Brezgel, Paul Brazgel, Charlotte Norenberg, Evelyn Brinkman and Patricia Piatrowski; and his former wife, Shirley Rogers.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. David Barrett officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery with military rites conducted by AMVETS Post 10.
