The Gillett Library, 200 E. Main St., will have an ice skating rink this winter in the Community Square space adjacent to the library. The goal is to have the rink open to the public by early January. Skating will be available for free, just bring your own skates.
The library is waiting for quotes from local contractors for the addition of a second bathroom in the Community Center building. When these renovations are completed, the center will be available to the public for skating parties, birthday parties and more. In the meantime, the library, during open hours, will act as a warming center for skaters.
The library is looking for volunteers to help maintain the rink by helping to sweep snow off the ice, fill cracks and pick up litter. To volunteer, contact Kay at the library, 920-855-6224.
