Hildegard M. Uelmen

Hildegard M. Uelmen, 98, formerly of Cecil, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Shawano. Hildegard was born on Sept. 3, 1915, to the late William and Wilhelmina (Moesch) Wasmund in the town of Washington. On Sept. 28, 1935, she was united in marriage to Leo Uelmen in Pulcifer. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1995. Hildegard was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, town of Washington. Together Hildegard and Leo raised six children and owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Washington. She is survived by her children, David (Goldeen) Uelmen, Shawano, Beverly (Beryl) Varley, Altoona, William (Phyllis) Uelmen, Cecil, Bonnie (Cubby) Lamberies, Shawano, Linda (Wallace) Kirsch, Bonduel; 12 grandchildren, Kim (Randy) Weisnicht, Mona Varley, Brian Varley, Anne (Bob) Miller, Sharon Brown, Kelly (Terry) Irmen, John (Beckie) Uelmen, Bill (Rhonda) Uelmen, Sheila (Ty) Raddant, Kevin (Terry) Lamberies, Jenny (Todd) Engel, John (Joy) Kirsch; 27 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Clara Druckrey, Oconto Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo; a son, Donald; five brothers and four sisters. Funeral services were held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, town of Washington, W4496 County Road E, with the Rev. Steven Pockat officiating. Family and friends called at the church Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment was at St. Paul Church Cemetery, town of Washington. Zastrow Funeral Home is assisting the family.
