Helen M. Bogsted, 93, Green Bay, and formerly of Suring, passed away Aug. 29, 2014, at Woodside Lutheran Home in Green Bay. She was born May 15, 1921, in Greenwood to the late Anna and Oscar Horn.
Helen married Arvide “Andy” Anderson on April 9, 1940. He preceded her in death on May 10, 1948. She later married Oliver “Ollie” Bogsted on Nov. 12, 1949. She attended school in Owen-Withee. She was a talented seamstress and incredibly good cook who devoted her life to her family. Helen always looked forward to the annual girls weekends with her daughters. They would shop, go to the casino, and they also had a quest to find the best lemon bars.
Helen is survived and will be greatly missed by her four children, Ron (Fran) Anderson, Pittsville, Diane (Tom) Rabe, Shawano, Linda (Jim) Rupiper, Suring, and Renee (Doug) LaViolette, Oneida; three grandchildren, John Riccio, Phoenix, Arizona, Jennifer (Chase) Mulhall, De Pere, and Kim LaViolette, Ashville, North Carolina; three great-grandchildren, Lizzie, Mikayla and Emma Mulhall; one brother-in-law, Leroy (LaVera) Wadzinski; one sister-in-law, Mary Horn; many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Andy, and her husband of 54 years, Ollie Bogsted; two brothers, Kenneth and LeRoy; two sisters, Violet and Arlene; and one grandson, Brian LaViolette.
Visitation was held at Suring United Methodist Church, 404 Main St., Suring, on Tuesday, Sept. 2, from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Daniel Nault officiating. A luncheon followed. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Suring.
