Harry J. Rohr, 75, of Shawano, formerly of Sturgeon Bay, died Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Appleton Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 24, 1938, in Sturgeon Bay, the son of the late Joseph and Doris (Sorenson) Rohr. Harry went to Sturgeon Bay High School. He worked for 43 years at Bay Lake Bank as custodian.
Survivors include his sister, Joanne (Gary) DeFere, of Shawano, and brother, Dr. Roger (Mary Lou) Rohr, of Fenton, Mich.; and his dear nieces and nephews, Dr. Michelle (Stephen Acton) DeFere, of Hubertus, Bart (Debbie) DeFere, of Shawano, Dr. Jeff (Karen) Rohr, of Linden, Mich., Stephen (Melanie) Rohr, of Clarkston, Mich., and Kristi Rohr, of Fenton, Mich., along with their families.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph and Doris Rohr; maternal grandparents, Lucy and Jim Mack; and paternal grandparents, Jules and Elizabeth Rohr.
Harry loved his family and was very devoted to them as they were to him. He adored his nieces and nephews and was very fortunate to be able to spend lots of time with them. One of his favorite things to do was to visit his brother, Roger, and family for six weeks each spring and fall. Another favorite pastime of Harry’s was to watch movies. He had a very large movie collection. He was also a great Packers fan and attended many games with his family.
Friends called at Huehns Funeral Home on Saturday, March 22, 2014, from 2 p.m. until the time of services at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Ken Boettcher officiating. Burial followed at Bayside Cemetery.
Thank you so much to the staff at The Cottages assisted living in Shawano for taking such good care of Harry and making his stay comfortable. Thank you also to Bay Lake Bank for all those years of making Harry feel like one of your family. He loved going to work.
