The average price received by farmers for corn during May in Wisconsin was $4.25 per bushel according to the latest USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service – Agricultural Prices report.
This was 11 cents above the April price but $1.99 below May 2023.
The May 2024 average price received by farmers for soybeans, at $11.70 per bushel, was 20 cents above the April price but $2.70 below the May 2023 price.
The May average oat price per bushel, at $4.22, was 76 cents above April and 18 cents above May 2023.
All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $177 per ton in May. This was $8 below the April price but $17 above the May 2023 price. The May 2024 alfalfa hay price, at $185, was $9 below the previous month but $15 above May 2023. The average price received for other hay during May was $150 per ton. This was $6 below the April price but $37 above May last year.
The average price for milk was $21.30 per hundredweight (cwt), $2.70 above the April price and $3.20 above May 2023.
The U.S. all milk price for May was $22 per cwt, 70 cents higher than Wisconsin’s price and $1.50 higher than last month’s U.S. price.
