Dolores H. Schroeder, 84, Morgan, died Tuesday morning, Dec. 2, 2014, at St. Clare Memorial Hospital following numerous health complications. She was born March 26, 1930, at home in the town of Green Valley to Adolph and Esther (Klosterman) Froelich. Dolores grew up on her family farm and attended Grand View Grade School and graduated from Bonduel High School with the Class of 1948.
On May 26, 1951, she married Alvin R. Schroeder in Pulcifer, and the couple made their home on the Schroeder family farm in the town of Morgan, which they owned and operated and raised their family.
Dolores was a longtime and active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Morgan where she sang in the choir, served as Sunday School superintendent and teacher and worked with the Women of the Church in many activities and once served as president and secretary.
She was also a leader in the Morgan Badgers 4-H where she served in many capacities, including the annual food stand at the Oconto County Fair. Dolores also held membership and held offices in Oconto County Dairy Promotions, Breakfast on the Farm, Oconto Falls Women’s Club and membership chair of the Federation of Women’s Club-district 8 and the Oconto County Farm Bureau.
Along with her husband, the couple served on the Town of Morgan Cemetery Board and as sextants for over 50 years.
Dolores also received many awards and recognition for her many hours of volunteer service to these and other organizations.
Survivors are her two children, Tom (Diane) Schroeder, Morgan; Sue Santos, Appleton; six grandchildren who she dearly loved, Jason (Pam) Schroeder, Greenville; Scott (Kelly) Schroeder, Kaukauna; Lisa (Bart) Broetzman, Oconto Falls; Justin (Dana Senn) Santos, St. Paul, Minnesota; Jenna (Scott) Dahlke, Appleton; Joelle (Jake) Malzahn, Waukesha; five great-grandchildren, Lauren and Addison Schroeder; Nicholas and Zoe Schroeder; Myla Dahlke; one brother, Keith (Jeanette) Froelich, Cecil; many special nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Alvin, on Sept. 7, 2003.
Visitation was held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls. Visitation continued after 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in the town of Morgan until the time of service. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with Rev. Paul Heykes officiating. Burial followed in the Town of Morgan Cemetery.
