Dickman scores four goals, teams comes up short

Jan. 18 Marshfield 6, Antigo 5 Owen Dickman scored four goals and Antigo battled back late in the third period but the Red Robins pulled up short, losing 6-5 to Marshfield. The Tigers took an early 2-0 lead, scoring twice in the first two minutes. Dickman put Antigo on the board at 3:10 with assists from Parker Chaney and Eli Kassler. Marshfield scored again to take a 3-1 lead. Dickman’s second goal came at 9:58 with assists from Kassler and Ethan Novy. Kassler then tied the game at 3-3 at 12:26 with an assist from Dickman. The Tigers then seemed to get the better of the Red Robins, going up 4-3 after two periods and taking a 6-3 lead early in the third period. Dickman, with a Kassler assist, scored at 7:23 and then brought the Red Robins even closer with his fourth goal of the game at 13:24. Unfortunately, that was all the scoring Antigo could muster. Antigo made the most of its shots on goal, connecting on five of its 19 shots. Marshfield had 39 shots on goal, with Antigo’s Richie Veriha notching 33 saves. Each team was penalized four times for eight minutes. With his four goals and one assist, Dickman leads the Red Robins with 44 overall points. He is followed by Kassler with 33 and Liam Burt with 10.
