Delores May Wasserford

Delores May Wasserford, 85, formerly of Lyndhurst, passed away on Tuesday morning, Sept. 16, 2014, at Maple Lane Health Care Center in Shawano, where she had been a resident for the past three years. Delores was born at home on May 1, 1929, in Shawano County, a daughter of the late John F. and Esther C. (Ruppenthal) Page. She attended country schools and later graduated from Gresham High School. Following school, she worked as a waitress, cook and bartender. She married John Wasserford in 1965 and lived in Brown Deer, later moving to Milwaukee. While living in Milwaukee, Delores was a manager of a George Webb restaurant. John Wasserford preceded her in death in 1991 while the couple was living in Reno, Nevada. Delores retired following his death and moved to Indiana to live with her daughter, Vicky. She moved back to Shawano in 1995. Delores loved to travel. She is survived by her daughter and son in-law, Vicky and Charles Gauger, of La Porte, Indiana; two grandchildren, Keith (Erica) Gauger and Jennifer (Todd) Conrad, both of La Porte, Indiana; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Dale (Helen) Page, of Shawano; and a sister in-law, Georgia May Page, also of Shawano. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews. Delores was preceded in death by two brothers, Fritz and Dean Page, and two sisters, Connie Hustari and Joan Kessen. Funeral services for Delores Wasserford will take place on Friday, Sept. 20, at 11 a.m. at Mickelson Funeral and Cremation Service of Shawano. James Lonick, lay minister of prayer, will officiate. Interment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield, on Monday, Sept. 22, at 11:45 a.m. Relatives and friends may call at Mickelson Funeral Service on Friday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
