Daniel ‘Buster’ Young

True to form, Daniel “Buster” Young pulled one final Irish goodbye — passing peacefully in his sleep on July 1, 2025. He left this world in classic Buster fashion, quietly, quickly and on his own terms. Daniel was born in Oconto Falls to Donald and Elizabeth (Betty) Young, and graduated with the Oconto Falls High School class of 1971. Buster had a deep love for the great outdoors. He especially enjoyed hunting in South Dakota, Alaska and at Coyote Bob’s hunting camp. He loved fishing and taking long drives just to see where the road would lead. Buster also cherished his time up north — especially with the Pagel family. More than anything, Buster loved his people — his friends, his family and his grandchildren. He’ll be remembered for his dry humor, quick wit (nothing got past him) and unwavering authenticity. He never pretended to be anyone but himself. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Young and Elizabeth (Betty) Bitters; and his beloved nieces, Anna and Angie Young. He is survived by his children, Jason (Heidi) Young; Amanda Kratz, Brenda (Ronald) Ausloos, Katie (Jake) Prucha and Lindsay (Jeremy) Burhop; grandchildren, Kennedy and Carly Kratz, Josephine (Adam) Kiess, Daniel Ausloos, Elizabeth Ausloos and Ruby and Cooper Burhop. Daniel is further survived by his siblings, Denise (Craig) Way, Debra (Gary) Young, David Young and Dean (Erin) Young; and nephews, Cole (Jackelyn) Young, Nick Way and Tom Way. A visitation will held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls with a sharing of memories to follow.
