Bonduel 73, Wittenberg-Birnamwood 55
Ryan Westrich led Bonduel with 28 points and 12 rebounds as the Bears knocked off Wittenberg-Birnamwood 73-55.
Going into the Central Wisconsin East Conference game, Bonduel held a one-game advantage in the standings.
After the final buzzer, Bonduel improved to 12-0 in the conference and 20-0 overall. The Chargers dropped to 10-2 in conference and 16-4 overall.
“Both teams executed very well,” Witt-Birn coach Garrett Rogowski said.
The difference was Bonduel hit their open looks, and the Chargers struggled more from the floor with shots they usually get to drop.
“Westrich proved to be too much in the post and was really the difference tonight,” Rogowski said.
Quinn Wesenberg scored 21 points, including three 3-pointers, for Bonduel, and Race Anvelink added another 14.
The Chargers were led by Jett Rogowski with 20 points and Hayden Miller with 13.
St. Thomas Aquinas Academy 78, Gillett 66
Jesse DeBauch couldn’t be stopped as he poured in 43 points for Gillett, but the Tigers still came up on the short end of a 78-66 scored against St. Thomas Aquinas Academy.
Jed Herzog scored another 17 points for Gillett. Also scoring for the Tigers were Bradyn Wendorff with four points and Ryan Pensis with two.
Gillett held a slim 32-31 lead at the half but couldn’t hold off their hosts after the break.
Oconto Falls 59, Denmark 53
The Panthers found a second-half spark to bounce back from a halftime deficit to beat Denmark 59-53.
Jameson Beaman led Oconto Falls with 18 points, and JJ Pytleski added another 16. Emerich Skarban and Evan Yuma each dropped in 10 posts.
Yuma also had 10 rebounds, with Beaman pulling down eight, and Chase Carriveau and Skarban each nabbing six.
Skarban led the team with six assists, and Yuma had a pair of steals.
Denmark led 23-19 at halftime, but Oconto Falls fought back and used its 40-30 second-half performance to win the North Eastern Conference game.
