Barbara Frechette-Kelley, 78, passed away Thursday evening, July 24, 2014, in Gresham. Born on Nov. 5, 1935, in Keshena, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Sarah (Irving) Frechette.
On Nov. 15, 1986, Barbara was united in marriage to Ellsworth A. Kelley. He preceded her in death in 1989. Living most of her life in the Keshena area, she was active in the community. Barbara worked as the Menominee County treasurer for over 30 years. Barbara served as the president of the Menominee Indian School Board and served as vice chair of the Menominee Tribe. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and she was a member of Schoenstatt.
Barbara is survived by her son, Reynold Frechette Sr., of Keshena; her grandchildren, Billy Jo (Jake) Frechette, of Gresham, Jennifer Marie (Jesse) Frechette, of Keshena, and Reynold Frechette Jr.; and seven great-grandchildren.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth; parents; brothers and sisters, Francis Frechette Sr., Charles Frechette, Ruth King,and Lois Vigue.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit with the Rev. David McElroy, O. Priem, officiating. Burial will be at the St. Anthony Catholic cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2014, at the Billy Jo Frechette residence, 1010 Bartelt St., in Gresham until the procession leaves for the church on Monday.
