Archery shop named Top 100 dealer

For a third consecutive year, Lena Swamp Archery, Oconto Falls, was awarded Top 100 Mission Dealer status from Mathews Inc. of Sparta. Mathews Inc. is the world’s largest archery manufacturer, according to a news release. Lena Swamp Archery owner Wade Jeske said 2014 was a challenging year. “Wisconsin changed the law to allow anyone to use a crossbow. We were selling on average three to five crossbows per day and repairing the same amount, besides our normal vertical bow business,” he said. He gave credit to his staff for their hard work. “The only way we can achieve Top 100 status being located in a rural setting is to have a top-qualified full-time and part-time staff. My highly trained, part-time techs set up and tune more bows than many shop’s full-time techs,” he said. The shop has three full-time and five part-time employees. Besides the Mathews/Mission line of bows and crossbows, Lena Swamp Archery carries bows from Hoyt, Fred Bear and Parker. It also carries crossbows from Ten Point, Carbon Express, Wicked Ridge, Horton, Excalibur, Parker, Scorpyd and Killer Instinct. The shop opened in 1998. Jeske has been in the archery business since 1986. Lena Swamp Archery has one of the largest archery sales inventories in the state. The shop motto is “Try before you buy, sight in before you leave.” “We try real hard to make everyone who comes through the door a better shot after they leave than when they first walked in,” Jeske said.
