Angeline F. “Angie” Coon, 94, passed away on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, at her home in Cecil with her children by her side.
Angie was born on Dec 5, 1929, in Cook County, Illinois, to the late James and Edna (Radtka) Margetts. On April 19, 1947, she was united in marriage to Lawrence “Tezzie” Coon in Oxford. The couple spent 69 wonderful years together before Tezzie’s passing in 2017.
Angie enjoyed her flower garden and watching the ducks by the lake. In her free time, she enjoyed doing scratch offs and watching the Green Bay Packers. Angie’s pride was in her family, and she loved spending time with her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Angie is survived by her children, Emma (Lee) Ebel, Linda (Jerry) Markiewicz and John (Linda) Coon; nine grandchildren, Emilee (Stuart) Hoffman, Angela (Bryce) Johnson, Jodi (Chad) Christenson, Robin (Sean) Flynn, Mary (Tim) Scherbarth, Tina Coon, Lawrence (Ashley) Coon, Morgan Coon and Buddy (Liz) Coon; 14 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Francis Trojan and Carolyn Coon. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Angie was preceded in death by her husband, Tezzie; son, Gary Coon; daughter-in-law, June Coon; grandson, Michael Ebel; great-grandson, Jefferey Coon; siblings, Doris Hedges, Lorraine Evans and Phillip Margetts; and parents, James and Edna.
Services are pending at this time. Inurnment will be in Davis Corners Cemetery in Wisconsin Dells at a later date.
