Three people were injured after a home explosion June 9 in the Town of Aniwa.
Shawano County sheriff deputies responded to the scene, after the dispatch center received a call just after 6 p.m., along with personnel from local fire and EMS agencies.
A preliminary investigation indicates there was a possible gas leak that was a contributing factor in the explosion. All three people who were in the home sustained non-life threatening injuries. A 35-year-old man was flown to a hospital, while a 55-year-old woman and 61-year-old man were transported by ambulance.
The Birnamwood Fire Department, Birnamwood and Mattoon Ambulance, the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation and Aspirus MedEvac were also on the scene assisting.
No further details, including the names of the individuals, will be released at this time, according to Lt. Adam Hoffman, as the investigation remains ongoing.
